Pizzi Cafe, founded in 1934 by Anthony (Tony) and Mary Pizzi, started as an Italian neighborhood bar where friends could meet and enjoy drinks and conversations.
Following a trip to visit family in Boston, Tony Pizzi came across and acquired the original pizza recipe for Pizzi Cafe. At that time pizza was an Italian family food that was only made in the home in square sheets. So Tony Pizzi brought back to Northeast Ohio this recipe for round pizza, which no one had ever seen before….and the rest is history.

An old recipe we discovered that Grandma Pizzi made just for her family and close friends. Our peasant dough lightly covered with olive oil, then a layer of fresh Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses. Topped with mildly spiced fresh tomato chunks then sprinkled with Romano cheese.
